This year marks the 10th anniversary of This Girl Can, a national Sport England campaign empowering women and girls to get active. Live and Move is proud to support this mission locally by working to reduce the barriers that still prevent many women from participating in physical activity.

Despite progress—especially in Exeter and Cranbrook, where female activity levels have returned to pre-Covid rates—challenges remain. Women often face obstacles such as caring responsibilities, safety concerns, body image issues, transport difficulties, or lack of appropriate gear.

The 2025 campaign focuses on reaching women from lower-income backgrounds, particularly Black or Asian Muslim communities, women over 55, and new mothers. Live and Move remains committed to creating inclusive, supportive environments where every woman can find ways to move more and live healthier.
