The Walk for Health walking group has been running since the beginning of 2024, organised by Pinhoe Surgery’s staff and supported by the local Community Builder, Ebbie, and Community Physical Activity Organiser, Georgie. It consists of lovely variations of walks around the Pinhoe area.

The group is very friendly, warm and welcoming, the group varies each week in size. The group has a large focus on getting active for your wellbeing, it isn’t a vigorous walk, but it’s a space where people can talk and be active while doing so. The attendees come from the new and the old estates of Pinhoe.

Georgie says: “It’s really great to see them form connections and friendships, reminiscing about the old Pinhoe and what great changes have been made to it. This allows them to connect back into the community.”

One walker said: “It’s not really about fitness for me – I like to come on the walk to socialise and chat to people my own age”.

The group is looking for anyone who wants to get more active in the local area or just wants to get out and be social. It takes place from 12.30pm-1.30pm on Tuesdays. Contact laura.kyte@nhs.net if you want to find out more.
